145th street is a local station served on the 3 line.
Layout and History Edit
This station has two tracks and two five-car long side platforms. The 2 train that goes to the Bronx switches just south of the station, and the curve to 148th street is up ahead. Originally, this was the last stop on the 3 line. When the MTA opened 148th street, they planned to abandon this station, but many people who live near the station wanted it kept, so they wouldn't have to walk up 1/3 of a mile to 148th street. There's no underpass, and the only way in is the stairway to the southbound platform, and there's a high exit on the northbound platform.
